Former Arsenal and Wales football star Aaron Ramsey is desperately searching for his missing dog, Halo, who disappeared earlier this month in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The midfielder, who now plays for Pumas UNAM, has offered a $10,000 (£7,500) reward for any information that helps bring Halo home safely.
The 34-year-old footballer and his family are heartbroken as the search enters its third week. Ramsey has been using his social media platforms to raise awareness and appeal for help, sharing emotional posts and photos of his beloved pet.
On Instagram, Ramsey posted a black-and-white picture of Halo with the heartbreaking caption:
“What I’d do to hold you one last time, Halo.”
His wife, Colleen Ramsey, also took to social media to ask area residents to keep an eye out for Halo, saying the family is “devastated” and just wants their dog home.
Halo reportedly went missing near Hipsterrier, a local dog shelter in San Miguel de Allende. Since then, posters and flyers have been put up across the city, and local volunteers have joined the search, determined to help the Ramseys find their missing family member.
Ramsey has thanked the community for its support and asked anyone with information to come forward. “Please help us find Halo,” he wrote in his initial post. “He was lost near Hipsterrier. A reward is being offered. Any information is valuable. Help us get him back to his family.”
Despite tireless efforts, there have been no confirmed sightings of Halo so far.
Halo is deeply loved by the Ramsey family, which includes Aaron, his wife Colleen, and their three sons – Sonny, and twins Tomas and Teddy. Fans from around the world have sent thousands of messages of support, sharing hope that Halo will be found soon.
Animal rescue groups and local pet shelters have also joined the effort, spreading the word online and through community networks. Volunteers have been seen carrying placards and posting updates about Halo around San Miguel’s neighborhoods.
Ramsey joined Pumas UNAM in July after leaving Cardiff City. The former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder has been adapting to life in Mexico and to playing at high altitude, but the loss of Halo has clearly taken a heavy emotional toll.
Despite the ongoing season, Ramsey’s focus has turned toward finding Halo. Friends, fans, and teammates have rallied around him, offering encouragement and sharing his posts to widen the search.
As the days go by, Ramsey remains determined to find Halo. “Every pet owner knows that dogs are part of the family,” one fan commented under his post. “We’re all hoping Halo comes home soon.”
