Actress Demi Moore recently introduced some adorable new additions to her animal family – three orphaned baby ducklings. And while the little birds are only staying temporarily, it looks like Moore’s tiny dog, Pilaf, has already become their best friend.
In a sweet Instagram post, Demi shared, “Duck, duck… Pilaf! 🐥🐶 We rescued three orphaned baby mallard ducklings! With the help and guidance of my local vet we are working to nurture them until they are old enough to be reintroduced to their natural habitat. It has been a messy joy, but Pilaf is loving her new friends. ♥️”
Demi found the ducklings in the woods and decided to rescue them with the support of a vet. While she’s planning to release them back into the wild when they’re old enough, for now, they’re getting lots of love and care at her home, especially from Pilaf.

Pilaf, Moore’s famous little Chihuahua (and travel buddy), is used to being the center of attention, but she seems more than happy to share the spotlight. In fact, she’s been seen cuddling up and hanging out with her new feathered friends like a proud big sister.
This isn’t Demi’s first time showing her love for animals – she already has several rescue dogs at home. But ducklings are a first, and fans are loving this heartwarming update.
From mushroom-hunting adventures to walking red carpets, Pilaf has led a fascinating life. And now, with three baby ducks by her side, her world just got a whole lot cuter.
For now, Demi is focused on giving the ducklings the care they need and ensuring Pilaf continues to enjoy her new role as the world’s tiniest duck babysitter.
