For anyone who has loved a dog, “Ohh My Dog” looks set to be more than just another family film. At the trailer launch, actor Pankaj Tripathi shared why he agreed to join the project almost immediately, saying the story celebrates one of life’s most genuine relationships – the bond between humans and dogs.

Tripathi revealed that when director Amit Rai, with whom he previously worked on Oh My God 2, narrated the story, he didn’t hesitate to say yes.

“I thought it’s an important and necessary film. When I heard about Ohh My Dog, I just told Amit that I’ll do the film, whatever my role may be. The bond between humans and dogs is built on unconditional love, trust, and loyalty, and this film captures those emotions beautifully,” the actor said during the trailer launch.

Those words will resonate with dog parents everywhere. Anyone who has shared life with a dog knows the relationship goes beyond companionship. Dogs don’t care about your profession, social status, or appearance. They simply love you every day.

Director Amit Rai hopes the film will remind audiences of that simple truth.

According to Rai, Ohh My Dog tells the story of a special friendship between a child and a dog – a relationship built on innocence, trust, and loyalty. He said the film aims to make audiences laugh, cry, and leave the theatre with greater kindness towards animals and one another.

From the trailer, it is clear dogs aren’t just supporting characters. The film stars canine actors Oscar and Bruno in central roles. More than 250 dogs were involved in production, making it one of the most dog-filled family films in Indian cinema in recent years.

The story follows the touching friendship between a young girl and a stray dog, exploring compassion, empathy, hope, and unconditional love. Rather than focusing only on entertainment, the film highlights the emotional impact dogs have on people’s lives.

One detail that stood out before the film’s release was Pankaj Tripathi’s decision to work without a fee. The actor said he wanted to support filmmaker Amit Rai and contribute to a story that deserved to be told. He also shared that because the film is set in Bihar, he stayed longer than planned and helped the production by connecting the team with local friends.

At Dogopo, we say dogs have a unique way of bringing out the best in people. Whether inspiring kindness, teaching loyalty, or making difficult days brighter, their presence changes lives in ways words cannot describe.

From everything we’ve seen so far, Ohh My Dog appears to understand exactly that.

In a time when many films rely on spectacle, it’s refreshing to see a story that celebrates something as simple -and as powerful – as the friendship between a child and a dog. If the trailer is any indication, this could be a film that both children and adults walk away from with a smile, and perhaps a deeper appreciation for the dogs waiting for them back home.

Ohh My Dog, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Maahi Rai, Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Pawan Malhotra, Vijay Mishra, along with canine stars Oscar and Bruno, is scheduled to release in theatres on July 31. For dog lovers, it may be one of the most anticipated family films of the year.
